Islam teaches humanity to help the needy and less fortunate. Naturally, the Prophet Muhammad [peace be upon him] was a social worker. He would put others before himself and his family.
A Joint project of Young Muslims & IMO [Feed the Homeless]
Feed The Streets is an Young Muslims Canada initiative that started in the Fall of 2004. In the summer of 2004, Young Muslims representatives became aware of the growing rates of poverty, particularly homelessness in Toronto & the other major cities of Canada. According to Social Watch, a Network of Anti-Poverty Organizations, there were over 250,000 homeless people in major cities of Canada.
The numbers were alarming and a need for action was dire. As a consequence, Young Muslims Canada established Feed The Streets where over 200 meals were distributed to Toronto's homeless and over 2500 meals per year.
One day, we hope this initiative will flourish to other parts of Canada. Join us in handing out meals to homeless people on a monthly basis. If you are interested in starting this initiative in other parts of Canada, please 3rd Sunday of every month

How you can get involved!!!
1. RSVP at least 5 days in advance
2. Indicate your interest in either meals preparation or meals distribution
3. You will receive an email with further instructions
